Our trainers come from a variety of backgrounds and over the years have gathered a wealth of experience from leisure and public services. The variation of their experiences and approaches to different things is one of the reasons why LTC can offer clients such a professional and tailored service.

Graeme Morgan
Managing Director
Graeme is a highly experienced National Trainer/Assessor with extensive experience of working with the emergency services and the leisure industry. Apart from delivery of Lifeguard and First Aid related training, Graeme also delivers Criminal Justice and Management Training sessions to the police and local authority and has led numerous projects improving service delivery, crime reduction and public safety. Graeme is also accredited to work in a custody environment, is a public order specialist and currently a risk manager for firearms.
Claire Tomlinson
Office Manager
Claire has a background in childcare provision and is currently our office manager. In 2009, Claire set up a highly successful drop-in service for new parents and their children which was voted the best group in Durham in 2013. You will normally have contact with Claire when making bookings, payments or queries, though she does occasionally appear at one of our venues...... Claire keeps the lads on the right track!

Mike Perry
Mentor Trainer Assessor
Mike has been an RLSS Trainer/Assessor since 2016 and is an experienced competition Swimming Coach. Having first passed his first Lifeguard Qualification in 2003 he has a wealth of knowledge from various areas of sport development and performance coaching.
Working with swimmers of all ages on a day to day basis, Mike is an experienced educator and always finds a way to help candidates achieve and develop to achieve their full potential.
Mike can normally be found at one of our Co. Durham, Wearside or Teesside venues.

Darren Leake
Trainer Assessor
Darren is currently the Sports Manager at a prestigious public school and has an extensive background working in the leisure industry with a high level of experience as a manager in a Local Authority setting. He has delivered sport and leisure services in the private and public sector, and is knowledgeable about achieving high quality. Darren is an experienced First Aid and Lifeguard Trainer and has a proven track record delivering quality paediatric first aid courses for schools and nurseries. Darren also has experience of designing training seminars and is experienced in pool plant operations too.
Myles Strudwick
National Trainer Assessor

Myles is qualified to National Trainer/Assessor level and can therefore lead our trainer courses. An experienced project manager, as well as having a background in competition swimming and lifeguard championships, he can offer advice about training systems, club development and business projects and delivery. Myles has both competed and been a team coach at national level competitions. Myles has delivered IT and business system projects as well as having experience in Leisure Management.
John Holmes
Trainer Assessor

John is an experienced lifeguard trainer and facilities supervisor and has many years of delivering lifeguard and first aid training to an excellent standard. As both a swimming and football coach, John fully understands the needs of the leisure industry and sporting clubs and has a massive amount of experience to illustrate his teaching. John is an excellent mentor for those wanting to develop within the leisure industry or a school sports environment. John can normally be found at our Co. Durham venues.
Rozz Boshell
National Trainer Assessor

Rozz is also qualified to National Trainer/Assessor level and has much experience as a pool manager as well as working with the Fire and Rescue service. She is also an experienced open water swimmer and trainer of open water lifeguards.
Rozz is an innovative trainer and a great mentor for anyone wanting to develop within the leisure industry.
Corey Graham
Mentor Trainer Assessor

Corey is a Duty Manager at a busy leisure pool in the North East. Being familiar with such a high demand role, Corey is the ideal trainer to give you a taste of what the role of a lifeguard can entail. He is able to relate to the experiences of new lifeguards , and will make sure that you have the skills and knowledge to put your training into action. He also has experience of delivering training in the care sector.

Rachel Spark
Trainer Assessor

Rachel has experience of working both in the Leisure and the Security industry and joins our team as a Trainer/Assessor delivering the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. With a relaxed but professional style she supports candidates in order to achieve their full potential in assessment sessions. Rachel is normally to be found at our Yorkshire or Teesside venues.

Olly Smith
Trainer Assessor
Olly is our newest TA having completed his Trainer/Assessor course with Myles. He is an experienced competition swimmer and used to working in the poolside environment. Olly has recently been working with younger competition swimmers helping them develop and improve their skills. Olly is normally at one of our Co. Durham or Wearside venues.

Carole Shaw
Swimming Teacher
Carole is LTC's swimming teacher. Having been a competitive swimmer in her youth Carole made the move into teaching at the age of 16. She is also a Disability Swimming and Pre School Swimming Teacher and prides herself on giving confidence to all her participants young and old. Carole is also now teaching Rookie Lifeguards and running Snorkelling sessions with LTC.
