You MUST be aged 18 years or over on the first day of the course 2. You MUST be in Full Individual T/A Membership of RLSS UK 3. You MUST hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Award About the course… This course is for those who want to undertake training and assessing of pool lifeguards and be involved in the delivery of other training courses accredited by the Royal Life Saving Society. The course is a five-day course and is assessed partly by “continual assessment” and partly by formally assessed teaching and assessing sessions. Following a successful completion of the course, in order to complete the qualification, candidates will then need to run a minimum of one full Pool Lifeguard Course and complete Pool Lifeguard assessments under the direction of a mentor. This must be successfully completed within a maximum of two years, or attendance on another five day course would be required. It should be noted that this course also looks at the management of PLG training courses and training systems, and as such, candidates should be prepared to take on a “Management Role” of such activities.
