LTC North East Ltd offer a wide range of short Level 2 courses in a range of subjects which candidates complete online. The courses comprise of workbooks and question sheets which are filled in by the learner and then submitted to a tutor for marking. Each learner is also assigned a tutor whom they can contact for guidance and support whilst studying their chosen course.

All of the courses are provided by Learning Curve Group, a local company also based in County Durham.

These courses are fully funded, at no cost to the learner, providing they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Lives in England

  • Has lived in the EU for 3 years, for purposes other than study

  • Not currently enrolled on an apprenticeship

  • 19+ at the start of the academic year

  • 19-23 year olds must already hold a full level 2 qualification, this is equivalent to 5 A* to C GCSE’s

  • Must not have completed any part of the qualification previously

  • A fee of £125 is payable should a learner withdraw from the course without completion. This is because of current funding rules.

These courses are funded by the government department known as The Department for Education via a partner organisation called the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).
